Cecilia Yau is a couture designer with more than twenty years of experience across evening wear, bridal and bespoke gowns. Her design language centres on line, proportion and the relationship between a garment and the person wearing it — the craft behind every alteration at ESG Alter Studio.
Trained in haute couture at ESMOD International Paris — the world's first fashion design school — she returned to Hong Kong in 1999 and won the Overall Championship and Creative Award at the HKTDC Hong Kong Young Fashion Designers' Contest. Named one of Hong Kong's Ten Outstanding Young Persons in 2013 and honoured with the Golden Bauhinia Female Entrepreneur Award in 2020, she now extends that same respect for the garment into repair and upcycling.

The mark begins as an A, flows into an infinity symbol, and becomes a needle with an eye. It reminds us that with care, a garment's life can continue without end.

ESG Alter Studio is a social enterprise committed to supporting local women's employment — dignified, family-friendly work — while reducing textile waste. Part of our proceeds is donated to 智中和基金會 Equilibrium ESG Endeavours in support of its cultural and community work.
